Edward, Though you are no longer here on this earth and now with your Maker I would just like to write a few words about our friendship. . I am grateful for your friendship spanning over 70 years. I will miss our little chats together whenever I visited the farms. We would talk about our lives and friends we had. Sometimes I would come across you cutting the grass in the old burial grounds at St. Michael's Church, Rampside when I was visiting my parents and grandparents graves. I even came across you building / repairing walls. Other times we would just sit and talk. You would also come looking for me when you knew I was staying in the caravan at the farm. Our father's knew each other when they were young men and we would talk about them and the building the Coast Rd. My father being one of the men in the depression years constructing it and he camped out in the farm fields. We covered so many subjects!. Going back to 1955/6 I came to know the whole family. The friendship has continued over all these years. Recently, I was contacted by relatives of yours who live in Australia and another cousin who lives not very far away from me here in Yorkshire who I have since met . They were wanting to contact you as they both remembered visiting Peasholme Farm as teenage girls and they never forgot your and their 'Fell' cousins, your younger siblings - John, Eunice and Gordon. I am in touch with one of them on a fairly regular basis and she did visit Eunice, with her family when they travelled to England in 2024. You once lost the email address but I was able to help you. Did you ever get the hang of the computer? At your funeral on the 1st April 2026 you should have been celebrating your 90th birthday. We will celebrate your life and now your passing with some joy and sadness. You will be missed by your family and friends. Rest in Peace Edward. Roberta Walker nee Hunt Phillip Walker and family.
